Derek Nett

Pastor of Amherst Bible Church
Derek has been the pastor of Amherst Bible Church since 2007. He has been married to his wife, Kerry since 1984. They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Derek brings relevant messages each week that can be applied in everyday life. He also is a leader at AWANA and helps with the boys' T&T group and the games, as well as being the AWANA commander. He and his wife lead the youth groups on Monday night as well.

Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’


Kerry Nett

Youth Group & AWANA Leader
Kerry has been attending Amherst Bible Church since 2007, when her husband, Derek became the Pastor of ABC. She and Derek have been married since 1984 as and have 3 children. Kerry loves spending time with her family, especially her 9 precious grandchildren. Kerry, along with her husband lead youth group on Monday evenings at ABC. She is also an AWANA leader. She enjoys teaching and has a passion for inspiring others with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dean Kramer

Elder & Adult Sunday School Teacher
Dean is an ordained pastor, who teaches the Adult Sunday School here at Amherst Bible Church. He is currently teaching through the chronicle order of the synoptic gospels. He also gives messages some Sundays. He loves to teach others and help lead them to Jesus. He has been married to his wife, Jenny since 1995 and they have 2 daughters and 2 sons.
In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family outdoors.

Brian Powell

Deacon & Worship Team Member
Brian has had the privilege to serve at Amherst Bible Church in the role of deacon. He and his wife Carrie have been married since 2015 and have a blended family of four children including:  Jasmine, Samantha, Lane and Wyatt. They also participate on the Worship Team, community outreach, and missions. Worship is dear to Brian's heart as he has been involved in music since he was young. Community outreach is a lot of fun as they serve in the food pavilion during Family Fun Night, which is an annual event where they along with others serve hundreds of hotdogs during a carnival style event which is free to the community. It is so rewarding to see those smiling faces every year! They also serve in the "Mission Shed" which takes in items to sell by donation for the mission field of Haiti. Brian and his family have been at Amherst Bible Church for almost 20 years and the friends and rewards they have been given are overwhelming as they serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Steve & Jayne French

Junior Church Teacher, AWANA Leader, Treasurer, Lead Mission Shed Volunteer, & Worship Team Member
With hindsight, they knew God was working on their hearts for years before they finally gave their lives to Christ in 1981. They both hungered to know the TRUTH about life and religion and got involved in Bible studies in Amherst. They learned Jesus said,
“I am the way the TRUTH and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14:6. And You shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you free.

They eventually got invited to church and jumped on Hwy 10 every week to go. Later they started praying for a Bible teaching church in Amherst. In 1998 while attending a Bible study in Amherst, God did the leading to start Amherst Bible Church. They have both been active in leadership, AWANA children’s program, worship team, mission trips, Mission Shed, and raising money to support teachers in Haiti. They have been married since 1974, and have four married children and four grandchildren. 

Amber Birling

 Lead Mission Shed Volunteer and AWANA Leader
Amber has been married to her husband Lee since 1971. They have 4 daughters and 13 grandchildren. She has been a volunteer at the Mission Shed sales since 2008, and is so happy to be a part of the ministry there. She is also involved in the Haiti ministries as she has been on over 20 mission trips over the past years. Amber also has taught at AWANA since 2015 where she leads the girls' T&T group. She and Lee have been here since 1998.

Pat Huber

Worship Team Leader
Patricia Huber has been Worship Leader at Amherst Bible Church since 2014. She enjoys bringing a blend of traditional worship music mixed with contemporary favorites. She has previously served in children’s ministry as an AWANA leader and Sunday School teacher. Her passion is for the lost and she spends considerable time ministering to the people in the village of LaJeune, Haiti, where her talents of teaching are shared with the village children, as well as the village widows. She also serves as the Church Clerk, compiling minutes of each bi-annual business meeting. Patricia has been married for 33 years to her husband Edward, and together they share 5 daughters and 7 grandchildren. She works for the Waupaca County Aging and Disability Resource Center, where she enjoys helping those in need to find resources to help them. In her spare time she enjoys movies and family game time.

Caitlyn Nett

Worship Team Leader & AWANA Leader
Caitlyn has had the honor of being married to her husband, Colton, for 12 years. Her greatest joy is being a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to their four wonderful children. She loves to teach and study the Bible and enjoys combining those two passions as an Awana leader. She's grateful for the opportunity to bring an offering of worship to the Lord on Sunday mornings and her prayer is that every person would experience the joy that comes from worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth.

Deborah Kramer

Computer Tech, AWANA Leader, & Worship Team Member
Deborah helps with the computer work at Amherst Bible Church, including designing this website and general computer maintenance. She is also a member of the worship team. She plays both guitar and piano.  She is also an AWANA leader and helps teach the T&T girls' group. She has been here since 2020 and loves serving and helping out. "I'm so blessed to be part of this family of believers".
